Cookie Policy

Effective date: September 19, 2026 · Last updated: September 19, 2026

This Cookie Policy describes how Note by Note with Mikayla (“the Studio,” “we,” “us”) uses cookies and similar technology on this website. We are a private piano studio operating in New Jersey.

This page is about the website itself. How we collect student and parent information (inquiries, lessons, photos) is in the Privacy Policy. Studio rules are in the Terms of Service.

Who we are What cookies are What we set Third parties Why we use them Your controls Children New Jersey Contact

1. Who we are

Note by Note with Mikayla is a New Jersey sole proprietorship offering private piano instruction (30-minute and 1-hour classes for all ages). For questions about this Policy, write to hello@notebynote.com or call or text 516-503-8084.

This website is an information and inquiry site. We do not process credit or debit cards on this website, and we do not run a login or shopping cart.

2. What cookies and similar technology are

A cookie is a small text file a site or a third-party service may store on your device. Similar tools include local storage, session storage, and pixels. Some third-party scripts also receive your IP address, browser type, and the page you requested even when they do not set a cookie.

Cookies can be:

  • First-party — set by this website’s own domain
  • Third-party — set by another company whose code we load (for example, a font or icon service)
  • Session — deleted when you close the browser
  • Persistent — kept until they expire or you delete them

This Policy covers cookies, local storage, and the third-party scripts named below. It does not cover Instagram, Facebook, Venmo, or other sites we may link to.

3. What we set ourselves

We do not currently set a first-party cookie. We do not set advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or login cookies. Our own scripts (navigation, smooth scrolling, and video playback) do not write cookies or local storage.

The first lesson form is an inquiry only. Submitting it does not drop a session cookie and does not store a card number on this site.

If that changes (for example, if we add a cookie that remembers a menu preference, or if we add analytics), we will update this Policy and the Privacy Policy before the new use begins.

4. Third parties that help deliver the page

To show the site, we load hosting, fonts, layout CSS, and icons from the services below. Those companies may set a functional cookie, use local storage, or receive technical data (IP address, user-agent, pages requested, timestamps) so they can deliver the file. We do not use those services to identify families, sell personal information, or run ads.

We do not control the exact cookie names or lifetimes those vendors choose. Their own privacy policies govern their processing.

What loads Who Why What we know today
Hosting and HTTPS Vercel Serve pages, security, and ordinary server logs We do not run Vercel Analytics or Speed Insights on this project. The host may still keep short-lived logs or security cookies that it controls.
Fonts (Playfair Display, Jost, Caveat) Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com) Display the studio’s type The stylesheet typically does not set a cookie. Google still receives your IP address and user-agent when the font files load.
Page layout CSS Tailwind CSS CDN (cdn.tailwindcss.com) Layout and spacing on each page The vendor may set a functional cookie or cache. We do not use it to identify you.
Icons Iconify (code.iconify.design) Header, footer, and in-page icons The vendor may cache files or set a functional cookie. We do not use it to identify you.

We do not currently load Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or similar advertising or measurement tags. If a cookie name such as _ga or a tracking pixel appears in your browser, it is not one we installed on this site.

5. Why we use this technology

The technologies in Section 4 are used only to:

  • Deliver the pages over HTTPS
  • Show type, layout, icons, photographs, and lesson video
  • Protect the host against abuse
  • Keep ordinary server logs for a short period

We do not sell personal information. We do not share information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use cookies to retarget ads or to profile children.

6. Your controls

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, and some let you block third-party cookies only. You can also use private browsing. Blocking cookies or third-party scripts may make fonts or icons fail to load; the rest of the site should still work.

How to manage cookies (links open the vendor’s help pages, which may change):

  • Google Chrome
  • Safari
  • Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge

We do not currently honor a separate “do not sell” or Global Privacy Control signal as a cookie opt-out because we do not sell personal information and we do not run advertising cookies. If we add analytics or advertising later, we will update this Policy and the Privacy Policy before we do so.

For access, correction, or deletion of information we hold about you or your child (inquiries, enrollment, media), use the process in the Privacy Policy.

7. Children under 13

This website is directed to parents and adult students, not to children acting on their own. We do not use cookies or similar technology to advertise to children or to build a profile of a child.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 through this website except from that child’s parent or legal guardian, as described in the Privacy Policy (COPPA).

8. New Jersey residents

New Jersey does not have a cookie-specific statute separate from its consumer-privacy and consumer-fraud laws. The New Jersey Data Privacy Act applies to businesses that meet large processing or data-sale thresholds. A studio of our size typically does not meet those thresholds, and we do not sell personal data.

Nothing in this Policy is meant to limit a right you have under New Jersey or federal law, including COPPA, the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act, and the Truth-in-Consumer Contract, Warranty and Notice Act (TCCWNA).

9. Changes

We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. If we add analytics, advertising, a consent banner, online card checkout, or any cookie that is not strictly for delivering the page, we will post the revised Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy and, where we have your email or number, notify you before the new use begins.
